Many of you already know…. Miss Kate, the owner and operator of The Golden Button, is having a baby in October! So for the time being….. We are slowing down…. Several classes in October and November will be taken over by some awesome Artists and Teachers.

You can still email us with any questions about….

  • Crochet Granny Squares
Thursdays in October 5:00-6:00 PM 
October 6, 13, 20 and 27th 
Join us for this four-session class where participants will learn how to create beautiful Granny Squares. Class is open to teenagers and adults. We will have supply kits for purchase or participants can bring their own yarn and crochet hooks. Make a scarf, blanket or a pillow with your finished Granny Squares! Great for refresher class! please have some experience with Crochet so you can get the most out of this class! (Instructor Eileen Gorham)
Cost is $65 plus $12 supply fee

Join us for this fun class where participants will create beautiful hand sewn birds. Class is open to kids ages 6 and up. Pick from some of the most beautiful or eerie local birds! Learn how to hand sew and create an awesome little creature!

  • Kids Spooky Nighttime Art
Fridays in October from 5:20 to 6:20 PM
October 14, 21 and 28th 
Join us for this Spooky class where children will create frightful paintings and sculptures.  Create super scary drawings with ink and paint, a spooky painting with some of the most scary nocturnal creatures! Make a 3-d Monster Sculpture and more! This might get messy! Ages 5 and up.
Cost is $50 plus  $20 supply fee

Great for beginners or for a refresher class!

-Paper Mache and Messy Sculpture: From 4:00- 5:00 PM Plan, design and create beautiful, messy and fun art out of different types of paper mache. Kids Machine Sewing (all levels)

Meets Tuesdays in September 6, 13, 20, and 27th from 3-4 PM

 

This class is ideal for Middle Schoolers! Get out of school and hop over to The Golden Button for some awesome sewing! (Please send your child with a drink and snack!!!!) You may leave your machine at the Studio so you do not need to worry about transporting it!) (Kids who take the bus typically arrive at about 2:30/2:40 leaving them time for snack and a little homework.) Children will create awesome projects using both hand sewing and machine Sewing! (Also great for homeschoolers!) Cost is $65 plus $20 supply fee

“My Favorite Books” Sewing Class (all levels)

Meets Tuesdays in September 6, 13, 20, and 27th 4:20-5:20 PM

 

Join us in September!!!! Yup thats right… Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Alice in Wonderland inspired sewing projects!! Pick your favorites!) Work on awesome projects inspired by your favorite books! Use basic doll patterns to create your own one of a kind doll, make a mermaid, a fuzzy yeti, a sweet French inspired doll or a dog or cat! When you are finished create clothes for your doll and decorate! (You do not need a sewing machine… you may hand sew your dolls….. but you are more than welcome to bring your machine if you want to use it!) Cost is $95 plus $35 supply fee (you may also make clothes for your American Girl Dolls! Pick your favorite projects!)

Children (all levels are welcome from beginner to advanced beginner) will create awesome back to school inspired projects. Make a reading pillow, a super awesome pencil case and more! Children will print their fabric for their projects and use appliqué.  Children will work at their own pace and develop their skills. Learn how to work your machine or continue to work on new skills! Bring your sewing machine and sewing supplies (if you have them!) (Ages 7 and up please) Cost is $95 plus $35 supply fee (1.5 hour class)

Make fun back to school zipper Pouches!!!! Bring your favorite clean candy or food wrappers!!! (trust us its awesome!)

Adult and Kids Sewing Machine

Classes meet Mondays beginning  August 8, 15, 22 and 29th

(4 sessions) 4:00-5:00 PM

These mini “camps” are designed for your child to explore fun and new things. Every week this summer we are offering a variety of different sessions that will run from Tuesday through Friday. Kids Summer Sewing and Applique Design (all levels)

Classes meet Mondays beginning August 8, 15, 22 and 29th

(4 sessions) 2:00-3:30 PM

Children (all levels are welcome from beginner to advanced beginner) will create awesome back to school inspired projects. Make a reading pillow, a super awesome pencil case and more! Children will print their fabric for their projects and use appliqué. Children will work at their own pace and develop their skills. Learn how to work your machine or continue to work on new skills! Bring your sewing machine and sewing supplies (if you have them!) (Ages 7 and up please) Cost is $95 plus $35 supply fee (1.5 hour class)
Adult and Kids Sewing Machine

Classes meet Mondays beginning August 8, 15, 22 and 29th

(4 sessions) 4:00-5:00 PM

Parents and children can both learn how to use a sewing machine! Bring your sewing manual and we will create a fun and easy project for you to take home! (class is designed so that you can share one sewing machine and learn together) Learn how to thread your machine, work your machine and create beautiful items too! Please bring your sewing kits, thread, pins and all that good stuff if you have it. Make some fun back to school items and more!

Cost is $85 plus $35 supply fee (covers 1 adult and one child)
Teen Sewing Machine Classes (2 sessions a week!)

Classes meet Monday, August 15th and Wednesday, August 17th

Monday, August 22nd and Wednesday, August 24th

(4 sessions) 5:20-6:20 PM

Teens (ages 12 and up) can learn how to use their sewing machines. Bring your sewing manual and we will create a fun and easy project for you to take home! Learn the basics…how to thread your machine, work your machine and create beautiful items too! Please bring your sewing kits, thread, pins and all that good stuff if you have it. Beginner projects include simple clothing projects and more!

Cost is $70 plus $25 supply fee
