Here are some new classes you may be interested in!

Needle Felting Classes

There have been some adjustments to dates of classes at the Golden Button
Here they are in RED:
At The Golden Button Classes will be held on Sunday afternoons from 1-4pm in our new spacious studio at 122 South Pomperaug Avenue in Woodbury, Ct. Here are the dates and topics;

-Sunday September21st Woodpeckers; Cost $40. Makes one 6″ woodpecker suitable for hanging on a wall.

-Sunday October 26th Witch or Wizard; Cost $40 each. Make one in class and a second of the same at home.
-Sunday November 16th Choose to make a deer, moose or camel. Cost $40 Camel makes one, deer and moose kits make two.
-Thursday December 4th assorted ornaments. Cost $40 Make 3 different ornaments
-Sunday December 7th choose from angels, Gnomes or Santas. Cost $45. Make one in class & another of the same at home
Always Save $5 if you bring your own needles and foam!

-Little Kids Art
Mondays from 11:00-11:45 AM
September 15, 22, and 29th and October, 6th.

Little children have fun explore different art mediums and creating art! All materials are safe and appropriate for little hands! We will create some art supplies in class! All ages are welcome. Parents, grandparents, babysitters may join!
Cost: $65 plus $12 supply fee

-Drop in Art Time
Mondays drop in between 1-4 PM
September 8,15,22, and 29th
Each week we will have a different set of supplies for a different project. (You do not need to call ahead)

Cost is $15 per person (All ages are welcome)

-Autumn Landscape Painting at Bent of the River

(Class meets at Bent of the River on East Flat Hill Rd. in Southbury)

Wednesday, September 24th, October 1st, 8th and 15th

at about 5:45 PM to about 7:30 PM or till it starts to get dark!

During Autumn in New England journey outside to see the colors begin to change. As the air gets crisp and everything turns…. join us to create some beautiful landscape paintings. Focus on colors and textures and the light on the trees. Beginners are welcome to create beautiful acrylic landscape paintings with Kate Gorham from The Golden Button!

Cost is $80 plus $30 supply fee. Drop in for just one class $34 (includes supply fee)

Wednesdays from 10-11 AM

September 3, 10th, 17th, and 24th

Drop your kids off at school and start a new project! Bring your sewing machine and learn how to use it! Create your project of choice! First session we will jump right in with a easy project! Then we will pick a project of your choice to continue learning! Please bring a sewing machine, and your manual.

Cost is $75 plus $10 supply fee for thread and material for your first project!

-Little Kids Afternoon Classes

New Classes at Bent of the River

We are extremely excited to announce……

The Golden Button is partnering with Audubon Center at Bent of the River, in Southbury, to bring fun and exciting classes and workshops to the community.

Summer Classes in June to July….

-Hand Sewing and Embroidery Basics for Kids

Learn to create pictures and designs while hand sewing. Add embellishments to pillows, clothes, bags and blankets! Learn how to join fabric and add item like lace. This class is excellent for adding an artistic touch to already made items! These basic techniques can be used to make a sampler or a finished piece for clothing! So much fun! You can create anything!

Children 8 and up please. We will learn our stitches then learn how to apply them!

Tuesdays 4:15 to 5:15 PM

June 24^th, July 1^st July 8^th and July 15^th

Cost is $70 plus $15 supply fee.

–Crochet Basics

Learn how to crochet! Great if you are new to crochet or need a refresher! Learn all your stitches and how to apply them! Then create the project of your choice! You can opt to create a granny squares blanket, make toy fruits and veggies, or little amigurumi animals!!! So much fun! We will supply patterns and everything you need. Work at your own pace and learn to crochet!

Tuesday evenings 5:30-6:30 PM

June 24^th, July 1^st July 8^th and July 15^th

(Cost is $70 and a $12 supply fee)

-Kids Nature Art

Visit Southbury’s own Audubon Center at Bent of the River and create some beautiful nature art. Incorporate natural materials in you artwork!

Create a bird sculpture, make a painting with found objects, Learn about installation art in nature and make a sculpture then photograph it! Lots of fun!

Class open to children 5 and up.

When: June 25^th and July 2^nd, July 9^th and 16th

Meets Wednesdays from 4:15-5:15 PM

Cost: $70 and $15 supply fee

-Sunset Landscape Paintings at Bent of the River

Sunset at Bent of the River is just breathtaking! Take advantage of the beautiful landscapes and sunlight and learn how to paint! You may just see an owl!

Explore and learn how to create a beautiful landscape with acrylic paint. For all ages and levels. Classes meet on Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30 ish PM.

When: June 25^th and July 2^nd, July 9^th and 16th

Cost: $80 and supply fee of $30

Learn how to make flowers out of paper, draw, print, and sculpt flowers! Each class kids will learn and explore while creating flowers out of different materials!

Cost is $56 plus a $12 supply fee

Beginners Knitting

Class begins at 6:30 and goes till 7:30 PM

April12, 19 and 26th

Three part class for Knitting Beginners taught by Patti Clark of Maple View Farm. Learn how to Knit: Cast on, Knit, Purl and Cast off. Learn the basics with simple patterns.

Cost: $75 (You will receive a supply list before the class begins.)

The Kids learned how to “Wet Felt”

A felting technique where you use water and soap….then, agitate the wool by hand or with basic tools. We used local alpaca and sheep wool to make our artwork.
