Today we are have Stuffed Animal and Monster Making !

Cost is $25 for all the supplies you will need. Felt Buttons, Fabric, Fabric Markers, and much much more!!!

All ages welcome..

Stop in between 1 and 5 PM today to make Stuffed Animals or Monsters. Big kids (8 and up or younger with adult’s help) can sketch then cut and hand sew their own stuffed animals. Little kids can draw, color and design their own then leave them at The Golden Button to be sewn into a stuffed creature!!!!

(cost is $25 per child) (You will have till 6 PM to work on them but you must be here by 5 PM.) No need to call ahead.. just show up! We have a lot of great supplies to use!

  • Machine Sewing For Beginners (ages 10 and up) 

On Mondays at 5:30 to 6:30 PM

October 8, 15, 22, and 29th

Bring your own machine and manual to The Golden Button on Monday evenings in October and learn basic sewing machine techniques. This is a four-session class. You will learn all sort of things from how to work your machine, cutting a pattern, straight stitch and finishing edges all leading to a pillow as your finished product.  (adults are welcome to come too)

Taught by Maura Bergman

Cost is $75 for a 4-class session plus $16 supply fee.

Thursday: Little Kids Art (Ages 2 to 5) (sign up ahead of time please)
2:00 to 2:45 PM.

Children: ages 2- 5 will have fun with bubble art, nature sculptures and so much more. Young children get hands on. With lots of fun mediums and new things to try!

Friday: October 5th: Vegetable and Left Printmaking ($10) Stop in anytime between 1 and 5 PM
All ages are welcome to come and explore printing on material. Practice printing them make a beautiful Print to take home and display! (wear a smock or old clothes)

Drop in between 1:00 and 5:00 PM, Meet with your friends. All ages welcome!!! A different Project each Friday in October!!!!

Turn your drawings into pillows and stuffed animals.

Design a drawing, color it in, and then have it transformed into a stuffed animal or pillow for you!!! (No sewing) (please allow a week for finished product)

Make Your Own Animals Totem Amulet ($10) Stop in anytime between 1 and 5 PM

(All ages are welcome to come create an animal sculpture out of clay but older children and adults will understand it more than others)

Learn how to find your animal totem! Then learn how to create it out of clay. Leave it overnight and have it turned into a wonderful permanent piece of art that you can wear or carry with you.

 

Saturday, Octotber 20th: Paint a Pumpkin

Stop by anytime between 1:00 to 5:00 to paint your very own wooden pumpkin cutout. All ages are welcome $5.00 per pumpkin! While pumpkins last!!! Wear a old t shirt or smock. Leave your pumpkin till Tuesday and we will varnish it for you!

(Cost $5 till we run out. Supplies are limited)

October 23rd to October 27th:

Friday, October 26th: Haunted House Sculpture ($20) (Ages 4 and up) Stop in anytime between 1 and 5 PM

Build a haunted house out of lots of fun recycled and found objects. Make a hill, spooky house, make witches and ghosts crooked windows and much much more! Perfect scary sculpture for Halloween!!!

 

Saturday, October 27th: South Britain Historical Walk

Saturday October 27th (Free) join us after the South Britian Historical walk for Hot Chocolate and Fiber Art Demonstrations! See Local artists who knit, Crochet, Needle Felt and spin their own yarn!!!

Wednesday, October 31st: Stop by The Golden Button in your costume for a special, handmade Trick or Treat!

Hardcover Book Making with Dennis and Krissy from Kleiner Eisbär

On Thursday, October 11th and 18th from 5:00 to 6:30, join Dennis and Krissy Maksymiw from Kleiner Eisbär for a two-part class in making a hardcover hand-bound Coptic book at The Golden Button in Southbury, CT. Coptic bindings are among the oldest bindings, serving as both structural and decorative facets of a book. (Coptic bound books open and lie completely flat.)

For Teenagers and Adults. This is a two-part class

Cost is $42 plus $5 supply fee

Please sign up ahead of time The Deadline to sign up is October 9th. Please contact The Golden Button before then to hold a space. Space is limited!

Crystals and Bats

The leaves are starting to fall at The Golden Button. 

 

This Sunday from 2-4 PM is Needle Felting BATS!!!! Getting ready for Fall. 

There are still spaces available. Come learn how to sculpt a Bat out of wool! 

Cost is $35 (save $5 if you bring your own foam and needles)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here are some pictures from our Kid’s Art Adventure Class… It was Crystal day! We made Alum Crystals and drew some Amethysts and Geodes. 

Then we finished up our Fossils from last week with some metallic and glitter paint.
