Make some Illustrations!!! Learn a little about illustrators while you create super fun illustrations in different mediums! Ink, watercolors, clay and more! Kids will have the option to make some sweet little books! Great for kids who love drawing and writing. (4 weeks) Cost is $125

Fabric Dying Workshop!

Thursday, July 25th from 1:30- 2:30 PM

Bring one or 2 tshirt, pillowcase, light colored cotton clothing or even a twin sheet. Join us to upcycle something you own! Recycled and dye something to make it new again. We will have fabric on hand to do some hand painting as well! (Then leave it all at the studio to dry and in a day or two you can pick up your piece of fabriuc art!

Cost is $40 per person.

Guided Paint Night: Super fun large Texture Art

Friday, August 2nd from 5:00-6:30 PM

Join us to paint a extremely fun summer inspired, 3-d painting. Each participant will get a 16 x 20 canvas to create on. Make a giant jellufish or star fish. Add lots of fun texture and some super fun sea shells. Top it all off with shimmery paint. We will explore extreme texture with all kinds of tools. Cost is $45 per person.

(Painting may be to wet to move… in which case it can be left at the studio to dry.) Great Elementary, middle, teens and adults! Not great for little kids)

Mermaid Crafternoon

Thursday, August 8th from 11-12:3o PM

Make a magical mermaid doll with help from Miss Kate. Each child will get a blank mermaid foll to decorate however they like. Paint, glue and ad some whimsical details. Then add mermaid hair! Cost is $45

Stay for the next event to make some mermaid slime!!!

Slimy Science

Your child’s favorite. Make lots of slimey science fun! Fluffy slime

Mouse House!!!! A Mini Summer Camp (2 days!!!)

Thursday August 15 th and 16th from 11:00- 12:30PM

Join us to make a magical little nature house for a mouse! Each participant gets a super cute mini stuffed mouse. Make a super fun mini house for your mouse! Add personalized details to your mouse and then decoprate your mini house, pots and pans, candles, chairs and tables and a bed for your little friend. Don’t forget to make some cheese!! Kids Crafternoon: Dinosaurs and More

-Portrait Class at The Golden Button

Monday’s in September (14, 21, 28 and October 5th) from 11:00 AM to noon

Create beautiful paintings and drawings while focusing on portraiture. Each week we will work with different mediums to create sketches and practice before creating a finished piece of art. We will work from both real life as well as from photographs. You do not need previous experience to join!

This class is open to adults and senior citizens.

Cost is $75 plus $25 supply fee (covers all 4 classes)

-Kids Painting (Ages 7 and up) at Bent of the River in Southbury

Mondays in September: 14, 21, and 28th from 4:30- 5:30 PM

Kids will create landscape paintings at Bent of the River. We will explore and find a new place to paint each week! Meet us at the Bent Barn. We will be going on a little adventure to create a beautiful landscape painting or two. Children will be using acrylic paint and may be sitting on the ground so wear your old clothes and bring a mat or a blanket to sit on if the ground is wet!

-Evening Landscape Painting at Bent of the River in Southbury

Monday evenings in September: 14, 21, and 28th from 6:00-7:30 PM

–Lots of Sewing

Tuesdays in September 8, 15, 22, and 29th from 4:00-6:00 PM

Children will learn (or continue to learn) how to use their sewing machines and how to create new and fun items! Get ready for Fall and create an awesome fall blanket! We will also work on some hand sewing and add special embroidered touches to our blankets!

–Sewing Exploration!

Wednesdays in September 9, 16, 23, and 30th class meets from 12:30 to 2:30

Learn how to use your sewing machine and create things! We will create wonderful sewing projects based on the children’s interest. Create a quilt or a tote back with hand sewing and machine sewing! Children will have a sewing notebook to collect ideas and inspirations then bring these projects to life! Please bring your sewing machine or you can rent one of ours for $10 a class. (for homeschoolers)

Cost is $100 plus a $40 supply fee

-Drawing and Painting

Wednesdays in September 9, 16, 23, and 30th class meets from 6:00 PM to 7:00PM

In this class we will focus on drawing and painting. Children will create art from still lives, models, photos and more. We will focus on our technique as well as how to be more positive on the outcome of finished artwork. Supplies include paint, charcoal, colored pencils, and ink. On nice days we may go outside for a little landscape drawing. Children will work at their own pace!

Each Child will receive a sketchbook to take home and carry with them!!! (Kids ages 7 to 12) Cost is $65 plus a $20 supply fee.

Fridays in September: 11, 18, 25th and October 2nd from 4:00- 5:00 PM

Fiber Art! Learn about different kinds of wool, feel the difference between alpaca and sheep wool then learn how to dye it. Children will use nontoxic (child safe dye) to color dye wool. Children will use their vibrant colored wool to create art. Embroider drawings or designs on wool felt, weave a wall hanging, and make a felt pumpkin or apple sculpture for the fall.

Cost is $65 plus $24 supply fee.

–Friday Night Art: Cookie Cutter Art

Create awesome 3-d sculptures with cookie cutters and clay. (I’m serious!) Using several types of clay and a huge selection of cookie cutters we can create zoos, farms, animals in the wild, trucks, dioramas and soooo much more. Roll, cut, paint them as detailed as you please then install them into new worlds, FANCY backgrounds and hanging mobiles! So much fun!!!!!

Cost is $65 plus $25 supply fee

September 11th: Kids Night Out: Fairytale Night

Friday, September 11th from 7:00 to 9:00

Drop off the kids for Fairytale Night! Create awesome artwork from your favorite fairytale! Make a giant beanstalk sculpture or a tiny 3-d fairytale town, make a “candy house” in the forest, build a castle with wooden pieces then paint it metallic gold! Lots of fun things to use and create and we may even read a few fairytales! Lots of fairytale inspired magical fun!

Ages 4 and up please! cost is $35 or $50 for two children!

September 18th: Adult Paint Night

Friday, September 18th from 7-9 PM.

Join us to create a guided painting! Miss Kate will take you step by step through a summer inspired painting! Snacks will be served (BYOB) $45 each or $70 for you and a friend!!! (You do not need to know how to paint!)

September 25th: Parent/ Child Paint Night

Friday, September 25th from 7-9 PM

Join us at The Golden Button to create a very cool painting of an Elephant! We will use Acrylic paint so wear your old clothes and remind your favorite little person to do the same!!!!  Cost is $55 a pair (one adult and one child!) $75 for a pair and an extra child! October 2: Family Paint Night: Autumn Tree Painting

Friday, October 2nd from 7-9 PM

Work together to create a Family Tree! Each family will get to pick one large canvas, or two medium canvases! We will create a beautiful Autumn tree painting with acrylic paint! Cost is $55 for up to 4 family members!

Sewing Machine Class for You and Your Child!

Tuesday Nights from Time: 6:00-7:00 PM

July 14, 21, and 28th

Join us at The Golden Button to learn your way around your sewing machine! While many children are now interested in learning how to use a sewing machines….more often than not, their parents do not know anything about sewing! This class is meant for parents and their children! Bring your child, one machine and one manual and learn the basics! Learn how to thread your machine, fill your bobbin, change broken needles, which needles to use for which fabric and work together with your child to create something fun for you and your child! Basic beginner projects and materials will be supplied!

Cost is $75 plus $20 (covers one adult and one child and all their supplies!)

Kids Advanced Beginner Sewing Machine Classes:

Fridays from 1:00 -3:00 PM (2 hours!)

This class is for kids who have some experience with sewing machines. Join us at The Golden Button for this extended Sewing program. Kids will learn how to read sewing patterns and how to create finished clothing items. Focus on how and what materials to pick for your projects! How to read patterns and assemble garments.

Pattern choices will be given to you before the class begins. Each child will pick their own pattern.

Space in this class is extremely limited! You must register to participate in this class.

Cost is $115 (We supply your fabric and sewing pattern! Please bring your own Sewing Machine, manual, and you may bring your sewing kit… including your fabric scissors, pins, extra needles, button foot, zipper foot, seam ripper and other attachments for your machine.)

Family Paint Night: Sweet Treats!

July 17th from 7-9PM

Join us for a night of treats! Create a large painting inspired by summer treats! Create a giant milkshake painting with a straw or a huge ice cream cone covered in rainbow sprinkles or even an oversized banana split with a cherry on top! This is an awesome night out for the family or a great pre slumber party event!

Up to 4 “family Members” can work on one large canvas ($55)

Or work on 2 smaller canvases ($55) Tracers are available if you would like to use them!

Kids Summer Paint Night!

Hello there… Today on this lovely snow day… here in Connecticut… We are fixing up our website and working on a program so that you can sign up for classes right here on the website…. and making cooking and hopefully sewing some fun samples for upcoming classes… in a little while 🙂

Join us at the Golden Button on Sunday February 22nd at 2 pm to create 3-D pony sculptures. Needle felting is an easy-to-learn craft in which a barbed needle is used to sculpt wool into anything imaginable. In February’s class students will create a 4″, 3 dimensional felted pony or horse.
