In November you can sign up to create awesome Thanksgiving Centerpieces! Cost is $20 per Turkey includes awesome Paper mache Turkey forms, paint, feathers, and soooo much more!!!! Today we are working away at making turkeys! THis is not a drop in class You must sign up ahead of time to save a Turkey! (they take days to dry!)

Bring your sewing machine and learn how to use it! Create your project of choice! First session we will jump right in with a easy project! Then we will pick a project of your choice to continue learning! Please bring a sewing machine, and your manual.

Cost is $65 plus $10 supply fee for thread and material for your first project!

Little Kids Art

Wednesdays from 11:00-12:00 ish

November 5, 12, 19th and 26th

Little children have fun explore different art mediums and creating art! All materials are safe and appropriate for little hands! We will create some art supplies in class! All ages are welcome. Parents, grandparents, babysitters may join!

Cost: $65 plus $12 supply fee

Painting and Drawing on Strange things!

Thursday from 4:30-5:20PM

November 6, 13, 20 and December 4th!

(Kids 8 and Up)

This painting class is a little bit different….. Instead of painting and drawing on normal canvases and paper we will focus on creating art on new and fun objects, pick from our collection of fun objects or bring something from home! Each week we will create art with fun new materials on unexpected objects!

Cost is $65 plus $16 supply fee

Fridays-

Make Your Own Art Supplies!

Fridays nights from 5:30-6:30 PM

November 7th, 14, 21, 28th

Join us on Friday Nights to make your own supplies!!!!!! This class is awesome!!!!

Make everything from paint to clay and then use them! Each child will create their own recipe book to take home! Lots of fun! All safe non toxic supplies!

Cost is $65 and a $16 supply fee!

Night out with your friends! Create a guided painting with Artist Kate Gorham while you have a cocktail and some snacks! This class is only for adults please! BYOB

It is never too early to start thinking about the Holidays! Whether you have little children or lots of siblings and friends, we will create a wonderful thoughtful handmade treasured gift!
Each class we will focus on a new gift!

Sign up for one class, one session or the entire series!
This is a great way to be guided through projects you aren’t ready to do alone! We will create several projects then you can pick other ones you like!

Create one of a kind printed shirts, bags pillow cases, create a personalized piece of art out of a family or favorite photo (Photo Transfers!) and More projects to pick from!

Crochet week: Make a easy cowl or scarf, and Make toys! (Plus lots of projects to Pick from!)

Learn how to create this very awesome bag! Class runs for 4 sessions and meets for 1 hour. Learn how to create a pattern, use your machine, techniques for sewing, and learn how to make buttonholes. Please bring your machine, a buttonhole foot, and your owner manual. When you sign up we will send you a list of materials via email. This class is perfect for beginners or advanced beginners! (This is an excellent holiday gift! I know its early… but trust me… all your friends want one!)

Cost is $75 plus $5 supply fee for thread and material for your first project!

-Crochet Basics at Night

Learn to crochet! Remember those blankets your grandma used to make? Learn how to make one! Learn basic crochet stitches and learn how to use them! This is the perfect time of year to learn to make a blanket for a new baby or a little one in your life or maybe one for yourself! We will supply hooks and some yarn.

We are extremely excited to announce……

The Golden Button is partnering with Audubon Center at Bent of the River, in Southbury, to bring fun and exciting classes and workshops to the community.

Summer Classes in June to July….

-Hand Sewing and Embroidery Basics for Kids

Learn to create pictures and designs while hand sewing. Add embellishments to pillows, clothes, bags and blankets! Learn how to join fabric and add item like lace. This class is excellent for adding an artistic touch to already made items! These basic techniques can be used to make a sampler or a finished piece for clothing! So much fun! You can create anything!

Children 8 and up please. We will learn our stitches then learn how to apply them!

Tuesdays 4:15 to 5:15 PM

June 24^th, July 1^st July 8^th and July 15^th

Cost is $70 plus $15 supply fee.

–Crochet Basics

Learn how to crochet! Great if you are new to crochet or need a refresher! Learn all your stitches and how to apply them! Then create the project of your choice! You can opt to create a granny squares blanket, make toy fruits and veggies, or little amigurumi animals!!! So much fun! We will supply patterns and everything you need. Work at your own pace and learn to crochet!

-Kids Nature Art

Visit Southbury’s own Audubon Center at Bent of the River and create some beautiful nature art. Incorporate natural materials in you artwork!

Create a bird sculpture, make a painting with found objects, Learn about installation art in nature and make a sculpture then photograph it! Lots of fun!

Class open to children 5 and up.

When: June 25^th and July 2^nd, July 9^th and 16th

Meets Wednesdays from 4:15-5:15 PM

-Sunset Landscape Paintings at Bent of the River

Sunset at Bent of the River is just breathtaking! Take advantage of the beautiful landscapes and sunlight and learn how to paint! You may just see an owl!

Explore and learn how to create a beautiful landscape with acrylic paint. For all ages and levels. Classes meet on Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30 ish PM.

Rachel Gerowe of Red Barn Originals will teach this two-part session to create a beautiful realistic owl!

Little Kids Art!

Little kids of all ages are welcome to come and create artwork on Wednesdays at 1 PM! Explore different paints, build, sculpt and create! Get your hands dirty and have some fun! Moms, Dads, or other caregivers are welcome to have some fun too! (February 5^th, 12, 19, and 26^th!)

Cost is $55 (includes cost of supplies)

-Valentine Making!!!

On Saturday February 1^st and Saturday February 8^th from 11-4 PM. Stop in for a treat, see our new and improved studio space and make some valentines!!!

$12 for a package of blank cards! We will have everything you need to create beautiful creative valentines!!! All ages are welcome to come and create your own valentines for someone special!!!

*Special rates for people who want to create handmade valentines for their whole class!!! ($25 Email us ahead and bring your class list!!!)

-Kids Drawing and Painting (Ages 6 and up)
