Open Painting

Hello there.

Tomorrow we will be open from 1:30- 6:00 PM… Then we will be closed for vacation. We will reopen with new hours on July 10th at 11:00 AM!!!!

(You may still contact The Golden Button through email goldenbuttonshop@yahoo.com if you want to sign up for a class or need anything. It will be checked periodically while I am sitting by a pool 🙂

Stop by tomorrow for anything you may need in the next week or to do some Open Painting!!!

Portrait Art

This Wednesdays and Friday we are having Open Painting Hours. Drop by anytime between 2:00 and 5:00 PM to make a painting. We supply everything for $10! Wear a smock.

 Stop by at 5:00 PM on Wednesday for some punch and to see all the finished artwork from our Portrait Art Class!!!

Week Two- Sewing Camp

July 17-20 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Ages 8 and up)
Introduction to kids sewing. Each child will receive a small sewing kit to learn basic sewing. We will discuss sewing safety and learn how to create simple patterns. Your child will make food and other creations out of felt. Simple basic hand sewing for kids!

Week Three- Art Camp

July 24th-27th from 5:00-6:00 PM (All Ages)

Explore several mediums this week. Get comfortable with pastels, watercolor and create a large 3-D painting. You are going to want to wear a smock! Your child will work at his or her own level. All ages are welcome.

Cost is $50 plus $10 for supplies.
 We will be closing on Friday at 6:00 PM for vacation!!!! The Golden Button will open again on July 10th at 11:00 AM.
We will begin our Mini Summer Camp and we will have Needle Felting Bears from 6:30- 8:30 PM that evening!!!!

Please forgive me I have been having some troubles with internet this week… Making it quite impossible to keep up to date on my posts and work!

Here are a few things I have to tell you….

Week One- Summer Night Camp

July 10-13th from 5:00-6:00 PM (All ages welcome)
For four days in July, your child will create beautiful creations based on the theme A SUMMER NIGHT. Each Child will create a night sky painting complete with glowing stars, a terrarium for a collection of fireflies, a special pillowcase and their very own up-cycled book.

Tuesday, July 10th 6:30- 8:30 pm
Create any kind of bear you would like out of wool!

Costs $35 (save $5 if you bring your own foam and needles)

Sunday, July 22 2-4 pm
Create a beautiful bluebird sculpture out of wool.
Costs $35 (save $5 if you bring your own foam and needles)

Sunday, August 5th 2-4 pm
Create a dog sculpture out of wool.

Third… Lets see… Oh… Yes… There is still time to get to The Golden Button to paint your Father a gift for Father’s Day…

Make an “I love you more than__________” Painting.  There is no age limit but we ask that you wear old clothes or smocks. We will be using acrylic paint, which will stain clothes.  You do not need to call ahead for this activity but you can if you want.

The cost is $12 for a 8×10 canvas board and all the supplies. We will be using a canvas board so that you may frame your artwork if you would like. On the following dates you may come to The Golden Button to make your paintings…

Wednesday, June 13th anytime between 2-5:30 Pm

Friday June 15th anytime between 2-5:30 PM

Then this weekend is…

Mini Terrarium or Garden Design- a gift for Dad!! 

You may come to create a mini terrarium or mini garden. We will have containers and everything you will need to create a home for your plant.

This would be a fun activity to do with your father!!!

Saturday, June 16th You may come anytime between 1:00 to 5:30 PM

and Sunday, June 17th you may come anytime between 1:00 to 4:30 PM

The cost is $15 per container includes supplies and instruction.

Please call ahead for this workshop so we have enough supplies for everyone!

We also have some very cute truck soaps on sale as well as a few other gifts Father’s would love!

Last…

Some of you may know that I work as a teacher in the mornings… I would like you to know that at the end of this month I will no longer be teaching in the mornings. I will have arts workshops available at The Golden Button and I will be using the extra time to focus on growing my little shop. I would like to thank all of you who have supported me and my shop and helped The Golden Button grow!

Mini Summer Camp Schedule!!!

Drum roll Please……… Okay here it is the Mini Summer Camp schedule we promised you.

The Golden Button is offering Mini Summer Camps! These mini camps are designed for your child to explore fun and new things. Each week in July and August we are offering a variety of different sessions that will run from Tuesday through Friday. We will meet for about one hour a day. Plan ahead and hold a spot now! Space is limited! Each Mini Summer Camp week costs $50 plus a $10 supply fee.

July 31st to August 3rd from 4:00-5:00 PM (Ages 6 and Up)
Your child will build his or her own imaginative world. We will spend the four days for this mini camp planning, designing, and building an interactive diorama with lots of kid friendly materials. We will also spend some time creating characters to use in the diorama.
Week five- I Love Jewelry Camp

August 7-10th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Ages 4 and up)
If your child loves jewelry and building things this is a great series for them. Your child will create simple jewelry, a very cool jewelry stand with cups and saucers, a jewelry box and some polymer clay jewels.

Week six- Fabric Design Camp

August 14-17th from 4:30 to 5:30 PM
Play with fabric this week…try a new way to tye-dye, make freezer paper prints, print textiles or experiment with different fabric markers. Learn all different techniques. Design a tote bag and up-cycle an old t-shirt from home!

Week seven – Art Show Camp

August 21-24th from 5:00-6:00 PM
Lets create some ART…. Collages, color block painting, permanent marker drawing and much more. Create lots of art then at the end of the last class we will have a Summer Art Show!

Father’s Day Painting… “I Love You More Than________” today!!!!! ($12 per canvas)
