I went to the CT Sheep and Wool Festival in Tolland, Connecticut today.
I found a lot of new fibers for the store and myself today. I also saw some cute little animals.
I almost took this rabbit home.

I met some great people and bought some new roving for the shop and for our Koolaid Dying Workshop in May. I also saw Eileen from Alpaca Hill, Patti from Maple View Farm, and Rose from Bittersweet Ridge!!!!
We had a great time at Earth Day today.

We are having a Plant Sale at The Golden Button….

Rose from Bittersweet Ridge in Roxbury will be at The Golden Button to sell her locally grown plants!!!
We will also we doing Mother’s Day crafts at that time!

Exploring Art– From 3:30- 4:10 P.M
On Tuesdays in May…. Exploring Art is open to children ages 3 and 4. We encourage art exploration with clay, paint, markers, and other fun things. Each workshop will focus on a different medium. This class runs for 4 weeks. Instructor is K. Gorham.
Tuesday May 8, 15, 22 and 29th. Cost is $45 plus a $5 supply fee
Garden Art– From 4:30 to 5:15 P.M
On Tuesdays in May… Your children will be encouraged to create some garden art. During this four-week course we will make garden markers, a toad or frog house, we will create a garden sculpture and do some garden drawing. This class is open to children ages 5 and up. Instructor is K. Gorham.

Tiny Art- From 4:30 to 5:15 P.M.
On Wednesdays in May … Children will explore a tiny world of art. In this class we will focus on miniatures. While taking our time and planning, we will create some amazing little projects. Children will have a mini art show at The Golden Button to rap up their class. This class is open to children age 6 and up. Instructor is K. Gorham
Wednesday, May 9, 16, 23, and 30th
Mini Art Show will be Friday June 1st at 5:00 P.M!!!
Cost is $50 plus a $12 supply fee.

(Cost is $25.00) Create a beautiful painting of an animal you love. Bring a photograph or two for reference. Wear an old t-shirt or smock.
Make your Own Watercolors- Learn how to make your own watercolors with non-toxic, fun ingredients. Make them… then take them home with you to keep and get the recipe so you can make them again and again!
Saturday, May 19th. Call ahead to save a spot… then come anytime between 1 and 5 P.M. (Cost is $15 per person)
Bakery Painting – Come decorate a gluten free cupcake and then paint a picture of it with acrylic paints. (Wear an old t-shirt or a smock)
Friday, May 25th and Saturday, May 26th from 3-5 P.M (Cost is $30.00 includes everything)
Kool-Aid Dying Workshop- Learn how to dye wool fibers with fun colored drink mix!!! This is permanent and non-toxic and FUN!!! We will be doing this outside. All ages are welcome. Come in old clothes and learn how to dye your own roving and yarn. 15% Discounts off our yarn during this workshop!!!!! Watch a demonstration then try it yourself. We will also be doing some hand painting!

Today we had our Monday Workshops. The first class made watercolors…. then we had Drawing and Design. Here are some pictures of the Still Life we drew during the drawing class. The kids tried out watercolor pencils, colored pencils, maker, crayons and some homemade watercolors.

I will be making a bunch of homemade watercolors to bring to Earth Day!!!!
Since the shop was technically closed today…. I got to see this horse when I was on a walk. It made me smile so I thought you might like to see it too.
Today we had a very special little boy at The Golden Button….. Chase.
Chase is turning six months old next week and I love him.
Chase brought his Mom and Dad with him to paint his very first Easter Egg!

I am hoping to sleep in tomorrow, do some gardening, and take a nap. Oh and eat chocolate!
