Today is Haunted House Making at The Golden Button

Getting ready to make Haunted Houses! Today at The Golden Button $20 per person. Make an awesome Haunted hour stop in between 1 and 5 PM (You have till 6 PM to work but you have to be here by 5 PM!) — at The Golden Button.

We have some treats….Gluten Free/ Dairy Free Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies and

Cake Balls.

Needle Felting Owls!

Little Kids Art from Yesterday… We were very busy!

First we make nature art/ sculptures..

Then we made Woodland Creature Masks…

Finally, we finished up some beading we had worked on last week…

The next session of Little Kids Art begins next Thursday…

Little Kid Art (Ages 2 to 5)

Thursdays 2:00 to 2:45 PM.

Children: ages 2- 5 will have fun with painting, building, creating and so much more. Young children get hands on. With lots of fun mediums and new things to try!

Anniversary Celebration!

Today is the first day of our 5 day Anniversary Celebration at The Golden Button! Stop by this week for lots of fun, giveaways, treats, and sales! Thank you to everyone who has supported The Golden Button in its first year of business! We now have over 45 Local Artists who sell their items at the shop and lot of lots of local Supporters! Thank you!!!

Stop over today between 3 and 6 PM to make a very fun Woodland Creature Mask! ($12 per kits) Pick from a Bears, Badger, Raccoon, Fox, or Owl!

Children 8 and over can sew their masks (younger children can use special glue!)

They are cute!

Here are some photos from last nights Beginners Machine Sewing Class!

The class learned basic Machine Sewing techniques, how to feel comfortable with their machines, and they created these beautiful pillows. Now they are onto tote bags!

How to Draw Spooky Things…(ages 5 and up)

Mondays at 4:15- 5:00 PM

Since Halloween is coming up sign up for a Halloween drawing class! Learn to draw haunted houses, scary monsters, ghosts, jack-o lanters, witches moons, spooky cats and much more! Then on the last day of class make a super scary painting out of Halloween things!!!

Today we are have Stuffed Animal and Monster Making !

Cost is $25 for all the supplies you will need. Felt Buttons, Fabric, Fabric Markers, and much much more!!!

All ages welcome..

Stop in between 1 and 5 PM today to make Stuffed Animals or Monsters. Big kids (8 and up or younger with adult’s help) can sketch then cut and hand sew their own stuffed animals. Little kids can draw, color and design their own then leave them at The Golden Button to be sewn into a stuffed creature!!!!

(cost is $25 per child) (You will have till 6 PM to work on them but you must be here by 5 PM.) No need to call ahead.. just show up! We have a lot of great supplies to use!

Hardcover Book Making class with Kleiner Eisbar

On Thursday, October 11th and 18th from 5:00 to 6:30, join Dennis and Krissy Maksymiw from Kleiner Eisbär for a two-part class in making a hardcover hand-bound Coptic book at The Golden Button in Southbury, CT. Coptic bindings are among the oldest bindings, serving as both structural and decorative facets of a book. (Coptic bound books open and lie completely flat.)

For Teenagers and Adults. This is a two-part class

Cost is $42 plus $5 supply fee

Adult’s night out this Thursday!

Friday we have….

October 12^th: Making Stuffed Animals ($25 per stuffed creation)

Turn your drawings into pillows and stuffed animals.

Design a drawing, color it in, and then have it transformed into a stuffed animal or pillow for you!!! Children who are 8 or older or have an adults help may hand sew their creations! (No sewing for small children. You can leave them at the shop and they can be assembled for you) (please allow a week for finished product)

Drop in between 1:00 and 5:00 PM, Meet with your friends. All ages welcome!!! A different Project each Friday!!!!

Learn How to Knit Fingerless Gloves!!!

Saturday, October 13^th at 3:00 PM- about 5:00 PM

Advanced beginners class: This is a great one session class for beginners or people who know how to knit and purl, and increase or for people who need a refresher course in knitting! Learn how to make perfect knit fingerless Gloves!!! These are wonderful fast gifts perfect for many people. Start your Holiday gift making now!!!

Fiber Arts Workshops
