Super fun event next weekend!!!!!

Bakery Painting…

All ages!!! Next Friday and Saturday! (3-5 PM)

Come and decorate a cupcake then paint a picture of it. Lots of fun! Bring a friend!!!
(Cost is $30 includes everything cupcakes, decorations, canvas, sparkles, sequins and paint!!)

Tuesday night at 6:30 to 8:30 pm… Needle Felting Pigs!!!

Cost is $35

or $30 if you bring your own foam and needles. There are only a few spots left. Let me know if you want to come!!!

  • Animal Painting with Kate from The Golden Button

Friday, May 18th from 2-5 P.M

(Cost is $25.00 includes supplies) Create a beautiful painting of an animal you love. Bring a photograph or two for reference.  Wear an old t-shirt or smock. Open to all ages. Come with a friend!

  • Make your Own Watercolors- Learn how to make your own watercolors with non-toxic, fun ingredients. Make them… then take them home with you to keep and get the recipe so you can make them again and again! All ages are welcome!

Saturday, May 19th.  Call ahead to save a spot… then come anytime between 1 and 5 P.M.

(Cost is $15 per person)

  • Kool-Aid Dying Workshop- Learn how to dye wool fibers with fun colored drink mix!!! This is permanent and non-toxic and FUN!!! We will be doing this outside.  All ages are welcome.  Come in old clothes and learn how to dye your own roving and yarn.  15% Discounts off our yarn during this workshop!!!!! Watch a demonstration then try it yourself. We will also be doing some hand painting!

(Rain date is May 27th) Cost is 15.00 plus $10.00 supply fee.

We began our Tiny Art Class today!

Swing by The Golden Button for lots of fun things that will be going on.

We have beautiful new items and quite a few sales on some wonderful Mother’s Day Gifts. We will be hosting a Mother’s Day Event on Friday from 4-6pm. Come pick out some gifts, get a cookie and some lemonade and put your name in the drawing to win some beautiful local items. We will also be wrapping so you don’t have to.

You can also come by on Saturday!

Make a Glass Bead with Lavender Dawn on June 3rd

I have a very important announcement to make….. The Golden Button is very lucky to have one of our wonderful jewelry making- glass artists coming to do a demonstration…..

Dawn Lombard is a glass artist who is fascinated by the combination of creativity and scientific complexity of working with glass. She strives to differentiate herself by creating earthy and organic style lampwork glass beads in her studios in Monroe and Watertown, Connecticut. She has written multiple tutorials for the UK magazine ‘Making Jewellery’, was featured in the books ‘1000 Jewelry Creations’, ‘Creative Lampwork’ and ‘Creative Glass Beads’, was a featured glass artist in ‘The Beading Times,’ and won first place in Delphi’s ‘Art Glass Festival’ in 2011. She sells her jewelry online (www.LavenderDawn.Etsy.com), at The Golden Button in Southbury, Voila Gallery in Wickford Village, RI, and participates in many art shows throughout New England.

Mother’s Day Shopping and Tiny Art

This week stop by at The Golden Button to find beautiful, unique, handmade items for Mothers and Grandmothers and all the special women in your life!

We have beautiful garden decorations, soaps, yarn, fibers, bags, clutches, jewelry, gourds, bird feeders and much much more!

On Friday Night from 4-6 Pm we will be having a Mother’s Day Shopping Event with treats, giveaways and gift wrapping! (Ladies send your men)

On Wednesdays in May … Children will explore a tiny world of art. In this class we will focus on miniatures. While taking our time and planning, we will create some amazing little projects. Children will have a mini art show at The Golden Button to finish up their class.  This class is open to children age 6 and up.                                          Instructor is K. Gorham

Connecticut Sheep and Wool Festival

I went to the CT Sheep and Wool Festival in Tolland, Connecticut today.

I found a lot of new fibers for the store and myself today. I also saw some cute little animals.

I almost took this rabbit home.

I met some great people and bought some new roving for the shop and for our Koolaid Dying Workshop in May. I also saw Eileen from Alpaca Hill, Patti from Maple View Farm, and Rose from Bittersweet Ridge!!!!
