I know thats rushing it a bit but I just wanted to announce a few new workshops and remind you about the awesome things that are happening in June at The Golden Button!
Okay first off… these new class series for kids….
Exploring Art– From 4:15- 5:00 P.M
On Tuesdays in June…. Exploring Art is open to children ages 3 and 4. We encourage art exploration with clay, paint, markers, and other fun things. Each workshop will focus on a different medium. This class runs for 4 weeks. Instructor is K. Gorham.
Tuesday June 5, 12, 19 and 26th. Cost is $50 plus a $6 supply fee
Portrait Art: From 5:15- 6:00 P.M.
On Tuesdays in June… Portrait Art is open to all children over 5 years old who are interested in creating portraits or art based on people. Using different techniques and mediums this four week class will explore many different approaches to creating portraits. Painting, drawing, collage, and sculpture.
Tuesday June 5, 12, 19 and 26th. Cost is $50 plus a $10 supply fee
Cardboard Sculpture Workshops: From 5:00- 6:00 PM
On Thursdays in June…. Create detailed sculptures out of cardboard, fabric and other materials. Want to make a dragon, a ship, a unicorn, created a giant squid. If you can think it we will find a way to build it. This class is 3 parts. First week is planning, designing, and beginning- second week we will build the sculpture and the third week we will use acrylic paint and fabric and other objects to finish the piece. You will love creating large sculptures out of cardboard.
Ages: 5 and over
Thursdays in June 7, 14 and 21 (Cost is $45.00 for 3 classes)

Glass Demonstration and Bead Making with Dawn Lombard
Sunday, June 3rd (cost is $30 to make your own bead)
1-2 pm
Join Dawn Lombard at The Golden Button on June 3rd from 1-2pm for a live demonstration of glass bead making and get the opportunity to make your very own glass bead.
Dawn Lombard is a glass artist who is fascinated by the combination of creativity and scientific complexity of working with glass. She strives to differentiate herself by creating earthy and organic style lampwork glass beads in her studios in Monroe and Watertown, Connecticut. She has written multiple tutorials for the UK magazine ‘Making Jewellery’, was featured in the books ‘1000 Jewelry Creations’, ‘Creative Lampwork’ and ‘Creative Glass Beads’, was a featured glass artist in ‘The Beading Times,’ and won first place in Delphi’s ‘Art Glass Festival’ in 2011. She sells her jewelry online (www.LavenderDawn.Etsy.com), at The Golden Button in Southbury, Voila Gallery in Wickford Village, RI, and participates in many art shows throughout New England.
You may attend the demonstration and not participate in bead making. Its up to you!

Needle Felting- Cats
Sunday, June 10th we will be making fiber sculptures of Cats
2:00-4:30ish pm
Cost: $35 includes materials to make a cat in class and another at home. (color of your choice)
(Bring your own needles and foam and save $5)
