Here are some new classes you may be interested in!

Needle Felting Classes

There have been some adjustments to dates of classes at the Golden Button
Here they are in RED:
At The Golden Button Classes will be held on Sunday afternoons from 1-4pm in our new spacious studio at 122 South Pomperaug Avenue in Woodbury, Ct. Here are the dates and topics;

-Sunday September21st Woodpeckers; Cost $40. Makes one 6″ woodpecker suitable for hanging on a wall.

-Sunday October 26th Witch or Wizard; Cost $40 each. Make one in class and a second of the same at home.
-Sunday November 16th Choose to make a deer, moose or camel. Cost $40 Camel makes one, deer and moose kits make two.
-Thursday December 4th assorted ornaments. Cost $40 Make 3 different ornaments
-Sunday December 7th choose from angels, Gnomes or Santas. Cost $45. Make one in class & another of the same at home
Always Save $5 if you bring your own needles and foam!

At the Golden Button Shop
On Select Thursdays at 6:30-9:30 pm this Fall make your own Creche

Tomorrow at 11 AM Join us for Little Kids Art!!!!! or DROP IN for Art in the afternoon! Anytime between 1 and 4 PM! $15 Per person!)

Mondays from 11:00-11:45 AM
September 15, 22, and 29th and October, 6th.

Little children have fun explore different art mediums and creating art! All materials are safe and appropriate for little hands! We will create some art supplies in class! All ages are welcome. Parents, grandparents, babysitters may join!
Cost: $65 plus $12 supply fee

-Drop in Art Time
Mondays drop in between 1-4 PM
September 8,15,22, and 29th
Each week we will have a different set of supplies for a different project. (You do not need to call ahead)

Cost is $15 per person (All ages are welcome)

-Autumn Landscape Painting at Bent of the River

(Class meets at Bent of the River on East Flat Hill Rd. in Southbury)

Wednesday, September 24th, October 1st, 8th and 15th

at about 5:45 PM to about 7:30 PM or till it starts to get dark!

During Autumn in New England journey outside to see the colors begin to change. As the air gets crisp and everything turns…. join us to create some beautiful landscape paintings. Focus on colors and textures and the light on the trees. Beginners are welcome to create beautiful acrylic landscape paintings with Kate Gorham from The Golden Button!

Cost is $80 plus $30 supply fee. Drop in for just one class $34 (includes supply fee)

Sunset Painters Art Show!!!

For the past few months we have had a Sunset Landscape Painting Class meeting at Bent of The River. Today we are hanging the show in the barn. You are invited to join us on September 17th at 7 PM for the Sunset Painters opening, or you can see it during Bent Fest on September 20th or anytime during this month when you are visiting Bent of the River in Southbury, CT!

Night out with your friends! Create a guided painting with Artist Kate Gorham while you have a cocktail and some snacks! This class is only for adults please! BYOB

Learn basic hand sewing techniques, embroidery stitches, and how to apply vintage trim or appliqués. This is a great way to create something new from your old items!

Want to create a new up-cycled t-shirt or bag? Bring some old t-shirts, a hat, pillowcases, or a fabric bag to up-cycle! Your imagination is the limit! So much fun!

Cost is $65 plus $14 supply fee

Night Art Classes

Fridays from 5:30-6:30 PM

September 5,12,19th and 26th

Kids will create art based on the night! Some projects include painting night skies, creating starry wall hangings, creatures of the night art and other fun glowing things! This class is a great Friday night fun time! Wear old clothes! We might get messy!

Cost is $65 plus $14 supply fee

Wednesdays from 10-11 AM

September 3, 10th, 17th, and 24th

Drop your kids off at school and start a new project! Bring your sewing machine and learn how to use it! Create your project of choice! First session we will jump right in with a easy project! Then we will pick a project of your choice to continue learning! Please bring a sewing machine, and your manual.

Cost is $75 plus $10 supply fee for thread and material for your first project!

-Little Kids Afternoon Classes

The New Studio

I am so excited to share this with you… After an adventurous summer of traveling around and teaching at wonderful places…. We have found a new spot!

122 South Pomperaug Ave. Woodbury, CT

Here are some photos of the early stages of moving into our new Golden Button Arts & Craft Studio space! Lets just talk about some of the new and great aspects of this spot! Lots of natural light! LOTS OF PARKING!!!!! This space is TWICE the size of the last space and since we are focusing on classes and workshops (not as much on retail) it gives us so much space to work and create! Half the space will be dedicated to sewing, crochet, needle felting and other fun mediums and the other half (you can’t see in this picture) is dedicated to more messy projects!

So right now I am working on the new Schedule!!!! Here are some photos of one of our classes at Bent of the River! There will still be some classes at Bent! During our Sunset Landscape Painting Class at Bent of the River… we discovered this beautiful secret door! Everyone painted it!!!!

In September lots of these paintings will be on display at Bent of the River for a whole month! You can actually see it on display during Bent Fest on September 20th!

Who: Anyone!

What: Sunset at Bent of the River is just breathtaking! Take advantage of the beautiful landscapes and sunlight and learn how to paint! You may just see an owl! Explore and learn how to create a beautiful landscape with acrylic paint. For all levels. Classes meet on Monday evenings from 6-7:30 ish PM. We will supply tabletop easels, canvas and painting supplies!
