Happy Leap Year!!!!

Our Open Painting Workshop is scheduled for today, tomorrow, and Friday from 2-6 PM.

I hope you can come by and Pick a canvas and create a masterpiece.

But since today is snowy…..

I am going to the shop which is only 3 minutes away from my house but I realize if I didn’t own it I would be in bed watching Downton Abbey or Mad Men and not going outside in the snow…. but I will be there for at least a few hours… So in addition to today,  tomorrow, and friday we will also have Open Painting available on Saturday from 12-3 PM. For those of you who do not enjoy being wet and cold. ❤

So if you feel like swinging by today I will be there at 1:30 PM. (but if you want call first (203)910-9948 that’s fine)

My friend, Amanda, thought we should change the work/table/area so it serves as a better studio… So that what we are doing.

Last week I went to Seymour Demolition where I picked out all these old doors. My Father had to go pick them up in his truck… Then we cleaned them up a bit and my father and husband spent yesterday attaching them together and putting them up. I am very excited about this space. The Golden Button shop was originally meant to be a painting studio/ art gallery  for me but it evolved  into the wonderful local- handmade items shop it is today. We do enjoy a lot of workshops so it makes sense to have a workshop/ studio area.

 I am about to run down to the shop to measure, move, paint a door, rearrange and other fun stuff.

 This should make workshops a little more private.

Wall is up…. Over the next few weeks I will make curtains and maybe a coffee/ tea area back there.

Don’t forget that this week we are having Leap Year Open Painting Workshop!!! Which is going to be awesome!!! This Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!

We are also having a sale on some of the scarfs and winter items at the shop. I hear it is supposed to snow this week! (I am not actually excited about that so maybe you should ignore the exclamation point!)

We are going to be having a fun little event for Leap Year!!!!

To celebrate an extra day The Golden Button will be having Open Painting Workshops!!!

On Wednesday, February 29th,

Thursday, March 1st

and Friday, March 2nd

from 2:00 to 5:00 pm

Everyone is invited to visit The Golden Button to do some painting…. for $10 you will receive a small canvas and a lovely selection of acrylic paint. This is open to all ages from little littles to adults! Everyone is welcome. You may come in and create a masterpiece to take home. Wear a old t-shirt or smock and have some fun. Meet your friends or spend the afternoon with your children. Adults are welcome too!!!

Hi just wanted to let you know that even though we aren’t usually open on Mondays or Tuesdays (for the winter) We are going to open today (Monday) at 2pm for last minute Valentines gifts.

Come grab a beautiful valentine card, some jewelry, stuffed critters, fox prints, body scrubs, truck soaps and so much more!!! Oh there are still a couple pairs of super cute earrings left!

Drop Spindle Workshop

I am so very excited to announce this….

Drop Spindle Workshop!!!!!

Rose Garbien of Bittersweet Ridge Farm is going to be with us for a two day workshop in March (the 11th and 18th) to teach us how to spin our own yarn with a drop spindle!!!!!

I have wanted to learn how to do this since I found out that you could spin your own yarn!!!!

The workshop costs $60 for the two day workshop. Please let me know if you would like to be part of this wonderful workshop! Rose will be selling drop spindle kits for $10!!!

Oh!!! This Just In…..

I was just planning some delicious gluten free treats for the LOCAL LOVE EVENT….

 

CAKE POPS!!! CHOCOLATES!!! PUNCH!!!!

 

I visited Anne at Grand Prix Cigar Shop in Southford… She will be joining us on Friday after 3pm with some really wonderful quality cigars for you to get for your Valentine.

 

I also spoke to my favorite little sister… (I only have one) Who will be available on Saturday from 12- 2 to put awesome feathers and colored extensions in your hair!!!! ($7- $10 each)

Then I found some fabric and I cut out a bunch of canvas hearts that I am sewing together with ribbon hangers… Soooooo…… you can come sit at our table and paint some Valentines for your loved ones. (Great for the little ones) Cost is $5 for one heart…. $ 10 for two hearts or $12 for three hearts.

 

Oh and we will be raffling off a Valentine basket! Pretty much its going to be super fun!!!
